Thrteen years of fruitful co-operation between Radio Slovenia, National Tourist Organisations, municipal authorities, high school teachers and masters and dance schools under coordination of URSKA has established a popular and very well accepted mass event for graduates of high schools – simultaneous dancing on the streets, known as MATURANTSKA PARADA - QUADRILLE DANCE PARADE. The recorded number of dancers has been steadily increasing during the past ten years: from 3.128 boys and girls in Ljubljana on May 25th 2001 to 34.216 graduates on May 17th 2013.
242.280 boys and girls in over 100 cities in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Albania and Romania danced on Quadrille Dance Parade in past twelve years.
The record dancing with remarkable number of participants has been recognised for seven times as Guinness record in the category Largest simultaneous dance – Largest quadrille dance.
Girls with orange, boys with black T shirts and white umbrellas for the case of rain has become recognised as a kind of a “trade mark” of our Quadrille Dance.
You are kindly invited to join us at 14th Quadrille Dance Parade the brilliant event and a new Guinness record on May 22nd 2015.
We will be glad to share with you our experiences, the quadrille choreographies and the propositions for the Guinness record.
